About HIPAA and compliance
Vizanote runs on Google Cloud Platform, which holds SOC 2 Type II, ISO/IEC 27001, 27017, and 27018 certifications and will sign a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement covering all infrastructure services.
The infrastructure layer is audited by third parties annually. HIPAA compliance at the application level also requires correct configuration of role-based access, audit log retention, and a BAA with Vizanote — all of which are included with every paid plan. We do not claim the application is “HIPAA certified” — no software application can hold that designation under current HHS rules.
What we claim: the architecture is correct, the BAA is signed, and the audit trail is complete.
